Document Description
Note: This will memorandum instruction set is for
after your death; to create instructions for handling digital files if you're alive but incapacitated, use our
Digital Files & Records Power of Attorney.
Nowadays everyone keeps a massive amount of information and files digitally, which should be managed and disposed of responsibly. We all have sensitive information on our digital devices, and only someone you trust should be empowered to assume control of it.
Enter: the Electronic Records Will Memorandum. Use this flexible, simple form to name an agent to take control of your computer, smartphone, tablet or any other device, and give them instructions on what to with the records and files on them. Maybe you want all your music files distributed to your classic rock-loving niece, or maybe you want everything wiped clean and then ceremonially burned for good measure. It's your choice, and one that's increasingly important as more of our lives is stored digitally.
Whatever you want done with your digital assets and files, make sure you outline your wishes in detail here, and store the signed document alongside your
last will or
living trust. Feel free to use our
Estate Vault if you wish, and share emergency access to your signed documents with your loved ones.
Lastly, we also offer an
Email and Social Media Memorandum to Will, in case you want to specify your wishes for those accounts as well.
